Today the Ciociaria corresponds to the province of Frosinone, though in the past it included a number of other municipalities that now belong to Rome, Latina and Caserta. It covers the plains and hills of the Valleys of the Sacco and the Liri, the mountainous regions of the Hernici, the Meta and the Mainarde, which border the Ciociaria to the west and, on the other side, the mountain ranges of the Lepini, the Ausoni and the Aurunci.
